Brooks wrote and self-published her first novella entitled, “Mafietta,” in March of 2013. She followed with Mafietta 2: A House Divided a year later, in May of 2014. She also maintains, “The Mafietta Movement” a blog designed to explore the essence of womanhood and reveal how women define themselves on their journey to self-fulfillment. Both the book and blog address women’s issues while offering alternatives to these less than optimal situations.
When asked about her goal for Mafietta, Brooks responded: “My goal as an author is to have people that don’t normally read or don’t like to read – pick up my books and love them. My dream is to share the magic of words with those who love them and especially those who don’t understand their power.
This is why I write. This is why I created #Mafietta!
